The ECAT-2028C is an EtherCAT SubDevice providing eight isolated 12-bit analogue outputs. Selectable ranges cover ±5 V, ±10 V, 0 ~ 5 V, 0 ~ 10 V, 0 ~ 10 mA and 0 ~ 20 mA, so one module can drive a wide variety of voltage and current actuators.
Two RJ-45 bus ports allow daisy-chain wiring with up to 100 m between stations over 100BASE-TX, which reduces cabling in distributed machine layouts. Output status can be read from process data or checked on the LED indicators, and the removable terminal block simplifies installation and servicing.
The module has been verified with the EtherCAT conformance test tool and is intended for use with EtherCAT Main Devices or configurators. With 4 kV contact ESD protection on each channel, a 1 ms cycle time and distributed clocks, it suits the machine automation applications listed below.
