Produktinformation "ECAT-2517 8-port EtherCAT Junction SubDevice Module"
ECAT-2517 CR is an 8-port EtherCAT junction SubDevice that lets engineers move away from a single daisy-chain run. Its ports (one IN and seven OUT) allow the network to be split into branches or star-style segments, which simplifies cabling in machines and panels where a long serial chain is awkward to route.
Because each branch is wired as a separate section, a failed SubDevice or a disconnected cable only affects the segment it belongs to. Devices in the other sections keep communicating with the Main Device controller, so faults can be isolated and debugging carried out section by section rather than halting the whole network.
The module supports a cable redundancy layout in which the network forms a ring, so communication can continue through the other side if one cable path is lost. Each port carries 4 kV contact ESD protection, and the unit is housed in a metal casing for DIN-rail installation with a +10 ~ +30 VDC supply input.
