The ET-2251-32 is an Ethernet remote I/O module that brings 32 Wet/Dry digital inputs onto an Ethernet network. Each channel can also operate as a 32-bit counter, with a maximum count of 4,294,967,295, so it suits pulse counting alongside status monitoring.
A built-in 2-port 10/100 Base-Tx switch with LAN bypass allows modules to be daisy-chained along a line, reducing the switching hardware and cabling needed for distributed inputs. Configuration is handled through the built-in web server, and I/O pair connections can push local DI states to remote DO channels over Modbus TCP.
For integration with higher-level systems, the module acts as an MQTT publisher and subscriber and can report I/O status through SNMP V2c, with Trap messages sent on input changes or restarts. EMS protection and 3000 VDC I/O isolation support operation in electrically noisy plant environments.
