The GW-2235i CR bridges Modbus TCP hosts and serial Modbus RTU/ASCII devices over Ethernet, removing the cable length limits of legacy serial networks. It suits SCADA and HMI systems that need to reach serial field devices without native Ethernet capability.
Each serial port accepts up to 32 TCP masters, and a read-cache stores previous requests and responses so repeated queries to the same slave are answered immediately. The two Ethernet ports allow daisy-chaining, and the unit can be powered over IEEE 802.3af Class 1 PoE or from a DC terminal block.
Isolation is provided on the serial side, with 3000 VDC signal isolation on the RS-422/485 ports. Configuration is handled through the built-in web server, which supports static IP or DHCP addressing and serial port settings. The unit is CE, UKCA, FCC, RoHS and WEEE listed.
