The I-7188E4 CR is a programmable device server that brings RS-232 and RS-485 serial equipment onto an Ethernet network. It provides three RS-232 ports and one RS-485 port, so it suits engineers who need to network several legacy serial devices without redesigning them.
Serial data can be passed through as a Virtual COM port on a Windows PC, using the VxComm driver, or over a raw TCP connection for direct socket-based communication. The built-in MiniOS7 runs the programmable logic, and the unit includes a watchdog timer for use in harsh environments. A removable on-board terminal block simplifies wiring.
Compact enough to be described as palm-sized, the unit accepts a non-regulated +10 VDC to +30 VDC supply with reverse polarity protection and is rated for -25 °C to +75 °C operation. It carries CE, UKCA, FCC, RoHS and WEEE marking.
