I-7188E8D is a programmable Ethernet device server for connecting eight serial devices to a network: seven RS-232 ports and one RS-485 port. It belongs to the I-7188EN device server family and suits engineers who need legacy serial equipment to be reachable over TCP/IP without redesigning the device.
Serial data can be carried either through Virtual COM ports, using the VxComm driver on supported 32-bit and 64-bit Windows systems, or over a raw TCP connection for custom host software. The built-in MiniOS7 and Xserver programming structure allow the unit to be adapted to individual Ethernet applications.
The unit has a removable on-board terminal block for wiring, a watchdog timer, a status LED and reverse polarity protection on its non-regulated +10 VDC to +30 VDC supply. It is housed in a compact enclosure measuring 123 mm x 72 mm x 33 mm, with an operating range of -25 °C to +75 °C.
