The I-7510A CR is a blue-cover, RoHS-compliant isolated repeater and converter for RS-422 and RS-485 serial networks. It places 2-way 3 kV optical isolation between one RS-422/RS-485 device and the rest of the system, protecting the device from ground loops and disturbances on the wider network.
Beyond isolation, the module can regenerate a serial signal to extend the reach of an existing network. It can also lift an RS-485 segment past the 256-node limit of the standard, and it converts between four-wire RS-422 and two-wire RS-485 signals in either direction. RS-485 direction control is handled automatically, so no separate direction signal is needed.
Choose the I-7510A CR when you need a compact, DIN-rail mounted isolated repeater with a plastic housing and a supply range of +10 VDC to +30 VDC. Serial speeds run from 300 bps to 115200 bps, and the ESD protection on the RS-485 data line helps the module tolerate harsh field wiring.
