The ISO-P32S32W CR is an ISA bus digital I/O card that gives a PC 32 optically isolated digital inputs and 32 isolated NPN open-collector outputs. Each input is isolated by a photocoupler, which keeps the host computer separated from field signals and protects it from voltages that could damage it.
The outputs are current-sinking NPN transistors with an integral suppression diode for inductive loads. Output capability is split between 8 channels rated at 500 mA and 24 channels rated at 100 mA. External power is needed to drive the digital input and output ports, and the card has an onboard DC/DC converter. Two interrupt sources, channel 0 and channel 16, are available for event-driven handling.
The card is intended for factory automation, product test and laboratory automation, where a PC needs to read switch and sensor states and drive loads through isolated, field-wired connections. The included CA-4037W cable and CA-4002 D-Sub connectors simplify field wiring.
