Produktinformation "PPDS-720D-MTCP Serial-to-Ethernet Device Server with PoE, 1x RS-232/RS-485"
The PPDS-720D-MTCP connects a serial RS-232 device and an RS-485 device to an Ethernet network, so equipment with only serial ports can be reached over TCP/IP. The bundled VxComm utility can map the serial ports to standard COM ports on Windows PCs, allowing existing COM-port software to address networked devices.
Beyond simple serial-to-Ethernet bridging, the unit runs a programmable Xserver structure on the built-in MiniOS7 platform and can act as a Modbus TCP to RTU/ASCII gateway for SCADA and HMI systems that communicate over Modbus TCP. The RS-485 port includes a self-tuner ASIC controller, and the serial ports carry +/-4 kV ESD protection.
Power can come from IEEE 802.3af Class 1 PoE over a standard Category 5 cable or from a +12 ~ 48 VDC terminal block. The removable terminal block eases wiring, and the unit mounts on DIN-rail or wall. It is rated for -25 ~ +75 °C operation and carries CE, UKCA, FCC, RoHS and WEEE marks. The ordering code includes the CA-0910 cable.
