VXC-114U CR is a universal PCI serial communication board that adds four RS-232 ports to a host PC. It suits engineers who need to connect several serial devices such as bar code readers, serial printers, intelligent sensors and instrumentation to a single computer.
Each port has a 128-byte hardware FIFO and supports baud rates from 50 to 115200 bps with full-duplex communication. Under Windows, the driver provides a software buffer of up to 128 KB per COM port, which helps with large file transfers. The COM port number can be set manually with the built-in 8-bit DIP switch selector, or left to the driver to assign automatically.
This is the non-i version of the card, so the isolation and ESD protection features are those of the i versions and are not part of this model. The board supports 3.3 V and 5 V PCI bus signalling and uses a short card design. One CA-4002 connector is included.
