ZT-2550 CR is a compact wireless converter that takes an RS-232 or RS-485 serial link onto an IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee network. It operates in the 2.4 GHz ISM band and is designed to take the ZigBee Coordinator role, which initialises the network and manages routing.
Engineers would choose this unit to bring serial devices into a ZigBee network without running cable between them. The coordinator manages up to 255 ZigBee routers, and the module can receive or bypass data from parent and child nodes. Unicast and broadcast transmission are both supported, with source identification for non-addressed device data.
