The uPAC-7186EX-FD-G is a compact programmable automation controller that brings serial devices onto Ethernet. Its RS-232 and RS-485 ports, combined with a 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet interface, let engineers connect legacy serial equipment to a network and expose it to supervisory software.
Application software is built in C using the MiniOS7 framework and the supplied development tool kits, including Modbus libraries. The controller offers 512 KB of Flash, 16 KB of EEPROM and 64 MB of NAND Flash for storage, along with a real-time clock and a hardware watchdog timer for unattended operation.
The -G suffix identifies the grey cover version. An I/O expansion bus allows one X-board to be fitted for additional analogue, digital or serial functions, with more than 50 expansion boards available for this controller.
