The CAN-2053C CR is a CANopen slave module that brings 16 isolated wet digital inputs onto a CANopen network. Each channel accepts sink or source wiring, so the same module can read PNP, NPN, TTL and relay contact signals without changing hardware. It is a practical choice where an engineer needs to read switch and alarm states over CANopen with galvanic separation between the field and the bus.
The module implements CiA 301 v4.02 and CiA 401 v2.1 and has passed validation with the CiA CANopen Conformance Test tool. A default EDS file is provided, so it can be configured from a standard CANopen master. Dynamic PDO support, a configurable and savable input polarity setting, and a built-in 120Ω terminal resistor simplify commissioning and network layout. Node IDs from 1 to 99 and baud rates from 10 k to 1 M are supported.
Input behaviour is defined by an ON voltage of +3.5 ~ +30 VDC and an OFF level of +1 VDC maximum, with 4 kV ESD contact protection on every channel. The I/O pair-connection function allows inputs to be linked between modules. The unit mounts on DIN-rail and operates from -25 ~ +75 °C.
