The I-7188EA CR is a compact programmable automation controller that combines an Ethernet port, a serial RS-232/RS-485 pair and built-in digital I/O in one DIN-rail unit. It runs the built-in MiniOS7 operating system and is programmed in C, which suits engineers who want local control logic without a separate PLC.
Built-in digital I/O comprises 6 digital inputs, which accept dry or wet contacts, and 7 open-collector outputs rated at 100 mA and up to +30 VDC. The Ethernet port is 10BASE-T, and the 512 KB Flash, 2 KB EEPROM and 512 KB SRAM provide storage for application code and data.
Vendor Modbus libraries and the XServer tool kit are supplied to bridge serial devices onto Ethernet. The source names Indusoft, DasyLab and iFix among SCADA packages the unit can communicate with over the standard Modbus protocol. This Blue Cover ordering variant is RoHS compliant.
