NS-205AFT-T is an unmanaged Ethernet switch that combines four 10/100Base-TX RJ-45 ports with a single 100Base-FX multi-mode fibre port fitted with an ST connector. The fibre uplink carries 100 Mbps over distances of up to 2 km, and because the link is optical, electrical noise on the plant floor does not couple into the signal path.
The unit accepts a wide +12 to +48 VDC supply through redundant power inputs, so it can run from the common DC voltages used in industrial automation without an external converter. Reverse polarity protection and a relay alarm output with a 2 A @ 30 VDC rating support straightforward power and fault monitoring. Broadcast storm protection is included.
Mounting is on a DIN rail. The housing is plastic and the specified operating range is -30 °C to +75 °C, with storage between -40 °C and +85 °C. For the fibre link, the datasheet recommends 62.5/125 µm cable for full-duplex operation.
