PIO-D144LU (ordering code PIO-D144LU CR) is a PC-based digital I/O card for universal PCI slots, providing 144 TTL-level digital I/O lines organised as eighteen 8-bit bi-directional ports. Ports are grouped in threes as PA, PB and PC, and all lines are buffered on the board. All ports default to inputs on power-up or after a reset.
The card suits applications that need many digital channels in one computer. A 4-bit Card ID switch lets software identify each board when two or more are installed, and pull-high/low jumpers define the DI state when a channel is disconnected or interrupted, rather than leaving it floating. The card emulates 6/7 industrial-standard 8255 PPI ports in Mode 0, which simplifies migration of existing 8255-based code.
Wiring is made through one female DB37 connector and five 50-pin box headers. Software support covers Linux, DOS and Windows, with a DLL, an ActiveX control and sample programs for several languages, including C#.NET, Visual Basic.NET and LabVIEW.
