The PISO-P32C32U is a universal PCI card that adds 32 optically isolated digital inputs and 32 open collector sink (NPN) digital outputs to a host PC. The channels are arranged in four isolated banks, so the board suits designs where field wiring must be kept apart from the computer.
Each input uses a photocoupler and can be powered either from an internal isolated supply or from an external source, selected by jumper. The input port can alternatively draw power from the PC side through the onboard DC/DC converter. The output port requires external power, and each output is a Darlington transistor rated at 100 mA/+30 V per channel at 100% duty.
Where two or more cards are installed in one computer, the Card ID switch lets software identify each board. Drivers are provided as a DLL and ActiveX control, with sample programs for Visual C++, Visual Basic, C#.NET and LabVIEW among other environments, for Linux, DOS and Windows. The ordering code includes one CA-4037B cable and two CA-4002 D-Sub connectors.
