RSM-405FCS is a 5-port industrial Ethernet switch built for redundant ring networks. It combines three 10/100Base-TX copper ports with a 2-port 100Base-FX single-mode fibre uplink using SC connectors, and its built-in Cyber-Ring technique lets several switches form a self-recovering ring. Engineers choose it when a control network needs fast link-failure recovery over a mix of copper and long-reach fibre.
Configuration is kept simple. Ports use automatic MDI/MDI-X crossover, and redundancy mode and maximum recovery time are set with DIP switches. The unit accepts redundant +10 VDC to +30 VDC power inputs, and a relay output signals a power failure or network link fault to the control system.
The metal casing is rated IP30 and operates from 0 °C to +70 °C. It mounts on a DIN rail or on a wall, and the wall-mount bracket is supplied with this ordering code. Remote monitoring is available over Modbus/RTU and Modbus/TCP, with support for a Modbus OPC Server.
