The uPAC-7186PEXD-MTCP-G bridges serial Modbus devices and Ethernet networks. It works as a Modbus TCP to Modbus RTU or Modbus ASCII gateway, letting SCADA and HMI systems that speak Modbus reach RS-232 and RS-485 equipment over a single RJ-45 connection.
Power can be supplied over the Ethernet cable through Power over Ethernet, using a standard Category 5 cable from a PoE switch, which removes the need for a separate local supply at the installation point. The unit runs the built-in MiniOS7 operating system and can be programmed in C with ICP DAS software development tool kits, including Xserver, VxComm and Modbus libraries.
The I/O expansion bus accepts one X-board to add functions such as digital I/O, analogue I/O or timer/counter. This grey-cover variant is supplied with the 7-segment LED display and is designed for DIN-rail mounting in the operating range of -25 ~ +75 °C.
