Produktinformation "ECAT-2511-A EtherCAT Single-Strand Fibre Media Converter, 1310/1550 nm SC"
ECAT-2511-A is the EtherCAT side of a single-strand fibre link. It converts the EtherCAT signal to light on a single-mode SC fibre, reshapes the signal to correct distortion, and isolates bus faults caused by a wire short or disturbance so that they do not spread along the network. Its fibre transmission also helps keep EtherCAT traffic clear of EMS and RFI noise.
The unit must be used with ECAT-2511-B, as the two work together as a pair. Because one strand carries traffic in each direction, a matched pair can make better use of existing fibre, which reduces the cost of new fibre installations compared with running dedicated cable for each direction.
The 1 x RJ-45 EtherCAT port and single-mode SC port support a station distance of up to 25 km over 100BASE-FX. The unit has reverse polarity protection, a +12 VDC to +48 VDC input range and a DIN-rail mounting option.
