Produktinformation "I-7520AR RS-232 to Isolated RS-422/485 Converter, Blue Cover"
I-7520AR converts a standard RS-232 serial port into an isolated RS-422/485 output, allowing a PC or other RS-232 host to communicate over longer, more noise-tolerant differential lines without changing the host's hardware or software.
The RS-422/485 side is galvanically isolated with 3000 VDC, so the devices connected to that side are protected from noise and faults. Choose this variant when the RS-422/485 side carries the more expensive or more sensitive equipment; the RS-232 side is not isolated.
Automatic RS-485 direction control and ESD protection on the data lines help the converter cope with real-world cabling. Supply is +10 VDC to +30 VDC with 1.2 W consumption, and the plastic DIN-rail housing is rated for -25 ~ +75 °C operation. This is the blue-cover version; a grey-cover (-G) variant is listed separately.
