The I-8048 CR is an 8-channel digital input module from the I-8K/I-87K low-profile series. It accepts dry and wet contact signals, and the wiring method selects the mode, so one module can handle both signal types without changing hardware.
Each channel can generate an interrupt on a programmable rising or falling edge, which suits applications where a change of state must be captured promptly rather than polled. The maximum interrupt frequency is 10 kHz. Input channels are protected by photocoupler isolation and withstand ±4 kV ESD per terminal, with 3750 VDC isolation between the module and the rest of the system.
This is the non-isolated variant with the blue cover, identified by the CR ordering suffix. Its ON level is +2 to +5 VDC and its OFF level is 0 to +0.8 VDC. Power consumption is 1.75 W maximum, and the module is specified for operation from -25 to +75 °C.
