The MDC-741 CR links several serial Modbus devices to an Ethernet network. Its four RS-232 ports and one RS-485 port can operate as Modbus RTU masters or slaves, while the Ethernet port presents the collected data as a Modbus TCP slave to host controllers.
Data from every serial port is gathered through a user-defined polling table and merged into continuous address ranges, so a host can read or write the combined data in bulk rather than polling each device individually. Each COM port can use its own baud rate and data format, and write commands are queued with priority to keep control values current.
