The PCIe-S148 CR adds eight RS-422/485 serial ports to a PC through a single PCI Express x1 slot. Each port has its own 256-byte hardware FIFO, which helps keep data flowing reliably when several serial devices are connected at once.
Ports run from 2400 to 921600 bps and support full-duplex communication. Data bits (5 to 8), stop bits (1, 1.5 or 2) and parity (none, even, odd, mark or space) are configurable, so the board can be matched to most legacy and modern serial peripherals.
COM port numbers can be assigned automatically by the driver or selected under software control. This version ships with a CA-PC62M D-Sub connector; the /D2 variant is supplied with a CA-9-6210 cable instead.
