The VXC-118U/D2 is a universal PCI card that adds eight RS-232 serial ports to a host computer. It suits engineers connecting bar code readers, serial printers, intelligent sensors and instrumentation to a PCI-equipped PC.
Each port has its own 256-byte hardware FIFO and runs at rates from 50 to 115200 bps with full-duplex operation. Parity can be set to None, Even, Odd, Mark or Space, with 5 to 8 data bits and 1, 1.5 or 2 stop bits. The card supports both 3.3 V and 5 V PCI bus signalling, and the COM port number can be assigned automatically or chosen under software control.
Check the cabling accessory before ordering. The price list description for this code refers to a CA-9-6210 cable, while the ordering description for the VXC-118U CR lists a CA-PC62M D-Sub connector. The card has a female DB-62 connector.
