WP-8428-CE7 is a Win-GRAF programmable automation controller built on Windows CE 7.0, with a 1.0 GHz Cortex-A8 processor and a rugged plastic casing. It runs Embedded Win-GRAF SoftLogic programmed to IEC 61131-3, so control logic can be developed in a standard PLC environment and deployed on a PC-like operating system.
The controller provides four expansion slots for I-8K (parallel-type) and I-87K (serial-type) I/O modules. Its hard real-time capability supports deterministic control, and the built-in dual watchdog timer adds a further level of supervision. Communication options include OPC UA, Modbus RTU/TCP master and slave, and Modbus ASCII master, together with DCON and user-defined protocols.
Engineers can build HMI and data management applications on the VGA output, using the eLogger HMI function, the embedded SQL server and the FTP and web servers. The CR ordering suffix identifies this 4-slot variant; the 1-slot WP-8128-CE7 and 8-slot WP-8828-CE7 are the other members of the series.
