Produktinformation "I-7188E8 Programmable Ethernet to 8-Port Serial Converter, RS-232/485"
The I-7188E8 CR is a programmable device server that links eight serial ports, seven RS-232 and one RS-485, to an Ethernet network. It suits engineers who need to connect existing serial equipment to a network without redesigning the device itself, because the unit is independent of the protocol that runs over the serial lines.
Serial data can be passed through as a Virtual COM port, so existing COM-based software on a Windows PC keeps working, or as a raw TCP connection for custom applications. A VxComm driver is provided for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7 SP1, 10, 2012 and 2016. The built-in MiniOS7 from ICP DAS supports user programming, and a watchdog timer is included for use in harsh environments.
The unit has a removable on-board terminal block for wiring and accepts a non-regulated +10 VDC to +30 VDC supply with reverse polarity protection. It is rated for an operating temperature of -25 °C to +75 °C and carries CE, UKCA, FCC, RoHS and WEEE markings.
